My shoulders rise and fall with a huge sigh but it doesn't change the fact that I am afraid I will never finish any of my books! This is scary. I can laugh all I want and call myself a reluctant author but deep down I always believed that I would finish something.
All right, enough sobbing and whining. Do something about it. New Years resolutions are wonderful but they are made to be broken so instead I will make a checklist that I review daily. On this checklist will be only four things. The less I have to do the more likely I will be to accomplish them. My logic is frightening.
So here is my checklist:
- Complete chores by 1pm
- Check blogs, emails and Facebook
- Work on one WIP and complete 500 words +/-
- Take a nap
So what are your resolutions? Did you make a huge list with tons of stuff you are sure to break or did you keep yours short and sweet. I would love to know.
Happy New Year everyone!
Lots of people don't finish NaNo, including me! Don't beat yourself up over it [g]
ReplyDeleteI like your resolutions. Several of mine are similar. I resolved to write at least 2013 words on the WIP's per week, which breaks down to about 280 words per day--very doable.
Stick with it, and you'll finish!
Thanks Lara! Yes, I am very good at beating myself up. And 280 words IS very doable. I like it better than 500 which can be a tad bit scary.
ReplyDeleteAs to NaNo...I have an excuse. I painted store Christmas windows for the last few weeks of the month which left little time for anything but feeding animals and sleeping.
Good luck on your resolutions!
You painted store windows? That sounds awesome! Got any pictures?
DeleteHi Lara, sorry I haven't checked my blog this past week (Ha! Already broke my resolutions!) so I missed your question. My next entry I will post some photos...shows I really did have an excuse!
